Welcome to Mrs. Dunn's Reading and Writing Class.

Dear 5th Grade Families,

It’s September! Our classroom is ready for energy, learning, and laughter to fill it up. I am eager to get to know all of you. In our classroom, we will share our hopes, our stories, and our knowledge with each other. Ours will be a community that laughs and cries over the books that we read together, spends time recommending our favorites to our friends, and explores our own ideas through writing about the topics that are closest to our hearts.

We may have walked through the doors on the first day as strangers, but we will quickly become a community fueled by connection. In our community, every person will be seen, valued and heard. We will learn from and guide each other through the year in book club chats, feedback and collective community conversations.

I hope that the summer has filled you with joy and left you refreshed and ready for a wonderful year of learning together.
